We are Clare and Lizzy — experienced primary teachers and tutors with a combined 30 years of expertise, dedicated to helping children grow in confidence and skills. Kind, caring, enthusiastic, and creative, we specialise in early literacy (phonics, reading and writing) with a deep understanding of what really helps children succeed.
As parents ourselves, we know how important it is for children to feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. We have extensive experience working with children who have special educational needs, including ADHD, autism, and behavioural challenges, always creating a space where every child feels seen and capable.
We’re also both nature and animal lovers, and we bring that same patience, curiosity, and warmth to our teaching. Every child is unique — and we’re passionate about helping each one shine.

About Lizzy
Hi! I'm Lizzy Rushton, a primary school teacher with extensive experience of teaching all age groups from 4-11. I'm mum to two teenage girls and have a small backyard farm of four hens, four cats, a guinea pig and a visiting hedgehog! I love nature, reading and horses and I volunteer every week at a local RDA, which caters for children with additional needs. I have a wealth of experience in different primary settings and am experienced and expert at helping pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and behavioural needs. I am creative, flexible and fun and I LOVE helping children learn!
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I am a dedicated and nurturing teacher specialising in early reading and phonics. I have a passion for helping young learners build strong foundations in literacy, using proven, engaging strategies tailored to each child's needs.
My approach combines patience, encouragement, and expertise to foster confidence and a lifelong love of reading in every student I teach.

Our small-group phonics lessons are designed to help young learners thrive in a fun, structured and social setting - all from the comfort of your home.
1. Choose your Group and Book a Slot
Contact Us to find out which group would be best for your child based on their age and reading level.
2. Join a Small, Friendly Group
Each group is kept small (just 4-6 children) to ensure every child gets attention while still enjoying the benefits of learning with peers.
3. Log In via Zoom
At your scheduled time, join the session through a secure Zoom link. All you need is a device with internet access - no special software required.
4. Fun and Focused Phonics Lessons
Our sessions are packed with interactive activities, visual aids, games and practice exercises - all guided by an experienced teacher who knows how to keep young learners engaged.
